Daicon III Animation Discovered on 8mm Film!

Via the ever-awesome FreakyFilmFan4Ever – FemboyFilms announced on Twitter that they found an 8mm film print of the Daicon III Animation and are doing a color restoration of the film!
For those not in the know, in 1981 young to-be Gainax creators Hideaki Anno, Hiroyuki Yamaga and Takami Akai got together to create the insanely detailed and animated opening animation for the Daicon III Science Fiction convention, making it a historic work for Hideaki Anno and the first true OVA.
The tweet below shows their first attempt at dirt and scratch removal. We hope to see this historical treasure in its original glory soon!
