Oh D.C. Driving distance! I was so excited about this until I looked at the site. It says Video. Which leads me to believe it's really just a DVD projected big. Not film.

Still...it would be Eva 1.0 in a theater like environment...I'll have to think about this one.

PS. Interesting to note Eva 1.0 is apparently a PG film. Makes sense. ....except for when the Angels go boom and flood the world in rich gooey blood and gore.

Oh yeah....I forgot the titties....

and you almost get a full on close up and see what Kaworu's packing (or not depending on what you believe) in the final scene.

maybe the ratings will be "incremental"

1.0 rated PG, 2.0 rated PG-13, 3.0/4.0 rated R, makes sense IMO

I just wanted to mention in IRC today some members were wondering if maybe this showing would cut things out. While that's a possibility, personally I think that maybe 1.0 would be left as is and simply given the "PG" rating since it's felt it's no worse then an anime with that rating? I mean, keep in mind that Death and Rebirth was given a PG-13 rating in the states (IIRC) while EoE was given an R rating. Just a thought.

I don't recall there being any MPAA rating ever assigned to an Eva media product, I think they're all effectively unrated

of course I could be wrong, though

1.0 isn't rated PG. It's not rated at all, in America or in Japan. The PG rating was probably just someone's estimate of what its rating would be, as it certainly hasn't been officially rated by the MPAA.

Or 3.0 rate R,
and 4.0 rated NC-17. I could see it.

Then the re-population of Earth epilogue movie will be rated X.

Probably came from the Australian rating, which is PG.

No portion of Evangelion has ever received an MPAA rating. Many companies slap on a subjective ratings system for the purposes of aiding their customers, however they are not authoritative, and often self instituted ratings are skewed by business decisions.

As for the showing, I am disappointed it's not a film projection, but I understand why they won't be able to show it otherwise. If I go, it will be to hang out with other Eva fans. I remember seeing Death & Rebirth and The End of Evangelion at Katsucon with a group being a great experience.

Anyone up for a meetup?

Get that Alan guy to come. He has to see Evangelion at some point in his life, even if it's just Rebuild.

Darn. DC is six hours away. There's no chance of a Hartford showing, now is there?

I'm definitely going. I live in Silver Spring and it's just a metro ride away for me. Might even bike if the weather's good.

Wish I could. DC is but a 100 minute drive away but alas I have a film shoot set up for that day and I can't miss it. [/quote]
