I'd like to call troll job/horrible rumor on this, but skipping thru the Japanese Reichu has up of the 2.0 poster makes me think otherwise. But even if this information is true, bitching about it won't do anything (I have a tendency to complain about things like this).

I know that Rebuild is a different beast (hah) from the original series, but what reason would that have to change Asuka's name if Rei's* and Shinji's are kept (besides the similarities of Rei and Asuka now having destroyer-ship names)? Also, since when do the CHILDREN have ranks? Asuka being a captain?! That's just... WAT?! In honsou's words, Asuka's going to have one hell of a power trip. This is gonna be fun, as long as Asuka maintains the same personality despite the last name change. >=3

*Now I'm starting to wonder if there's something to Gendo's original surname in Rebuild being Ayanami instead of Rokubungi. Also, maybe for a huge mindfuck, Mari's last name will have a "Soryu" in it?

It's hard what with my inner fangirl, but I'm really trying to wait for all of Rebuild to be released before judging it.

Mr. Tines: Yes there was an issue with Miyamura's health but according to Brik, the problem Miyamura had wasn't extremely serious.

Yeah. I figured the image was blown up when I just saw it now.

Interesting changes with Asuka concerning the last name and all. These are the kind of drastic changes I want! Funnily enough looking at that sketchy Eva 02 photo you can tell it does have horns and they may be more prominent than at first thought.

And is that the Power plug on its back or is Eva 02 the Elephant Man?

P.S. Looking at that review and Babelfishing it, only thing I can fully surmise is it looks like the trailer features the Utada Hikaru "Fly Me to the Moon" single again.

P.S.S. The movie website has put the new poster up in lieu of the old one with all the kids sitting around for a group photo.
