Good news for all you Kaworu fan boys and girls out there, Kotobukiya is adding to their 1/6 scale Pilot+Eva series with a Kaworu, the first male pilot to appear. Kaworu is wearing his redesigned Rebuild plugsuit, and sits atop a stone bust of the Mark 6 Evangelion, which appears in Evangelion 2.0: You Can (not) Advance.
The series so far has included Rei atop Unit-00, Asuka atop Unit-02, and Mari wearing her pink plugsuit atop Beast mode Unit-02. There has also been a 1/6 scale Misato released, but it is unclear whether or not this figure is included in the same series.
The Kaworu figure is set for release in October this year, and will retail for approximately ¥6,800.
The Anime Boston schedule has a screening for Evangelion 2.22, You Can (Not) Advance, on Saturday, April 23rd at 12:15pm in the Hynes Convention Center, Video 210 HD Room. The screening will be followed by a panel with guests of honor and English cast Spike Spencer (Shinji Ikari), Brina Palencia (Rei Ayanami), Trina Nishimura (Mari Makinami Illustrious), and J. Michael Tatum (Ryoji Kaji) at 3:00pm in room #302/304 and an autograph session in room #308 starting at 4:30pm. There will also be many other Evangelion related panels including a couple hosted by The Eva Monkey. For more info about Anime Boston, the events and panels, and directions, check out their website.
At the Evastore Evangelion Evolution page, there’s a section at the bottom showing a prototype version of Evangelion Mark 6, the Eva Unit that Kaworu used at the end of the Evangelion 2.0 movie. It will have a release date somewhere during the summer of 2011. Ironically, these images may give us a better glimpse into what Mark 6 looks like in general than what we saw at the end of 2.0 and the 3.0 preview.

The newest attraction is the Evangelion Unit-02 bust (though it’s actually more just the head). And Min Nano Evafan visited “Evangelion: WORLD” and posted a ton of pictures, and a short youtube video of Nerv’s hallways. There seemed to be a lot of mock-ups of scenes from Evangelion: 2.0 with cardboard cut-outs of the characters, including the Rei and Asuka in the elevator and Kaji buying Shinji a drink (but without Shinji, and he buys UCC Coffee). Although Gendo’s office looks a bit cheap, especially the desk, the bust of Eva-02 looks pretty awesome.
The hallways of Nerv, Eva-01. “Eva Museum”, the peep holes are kind of interesting, plus a series of pictures showing the activation of Eva-01 using the Dummy Plug with info from the monitors.
Funimation finally put up the youtube video of a review of the R1 Evangelion 2.22 BD release. Just like the video for the 1.11 BD release, you get a chance to see in some detail the packaging and the contents, including the case for the 2 discs and the booklet.
In an effort to reduce strain on Japan’s damaged power grid, the Tokyo Electric Power Company asked people to conserve electricity during peak hours. The effort has gained momentum and was unofficially dubbed “Operation Yashima” after Misato’s plan to defeat the angel Ramiel. Now there’s a website for the campaign based on designs inspired from Evangelion. There are information updates on the site (such as projected power consumption), live twitter feeds, some fancy images and even a wiki.

We mentioned earlier about the new Fuji-Q Evangelion:WORLD attractions as well as the Evangelion:ROOM, an Evangelion themed hotel room at the Fuji-Q theme park. Here is a live look at one of these Evangelion themed rooms:
Entering the Evangelion:ROOM
You can press these and have Rei Ayanami speak
A look inside of the "Entry Plug" bed, complete with lights, storage cabinets, telephone, stereo, and bluray player
Other features include special images printed on the walls and ceilings that can be seen only with a blacklight, a Nerv coffee table, some production drawings framed on the walls, a large decal of Evangelion Unit-01 on the window facing the outside (making it look like Eva-01 is hanging out outside), Rei Ayanami wake-up calls and of course, a life sized statue of Rei in her plugsuit behind a glass case.
The full video including a short tour through parts of Evangelion:WORLD, is available at Yahoo Japan.
