I sharpened it earlier to see the connection in the number that would make it a six, and there was a connection...but...it looked broken too. Is that a 4?

Why would he be the new cyber character? He was already from Evangelion. Maybe he needs that helmet because the new Eva model requires it?

The review didn't say "new." Since nothing else in the trailer remotely resembles a "cyber character", this shot must be what the reviewer meant.

OedipusFoot, that is not a four. What you're seeing is the last line of the N, the -, and the first line of the 0 mixing. It's definitely EVANGELION-0 something. It could very easily be a five, which means that's the new char; or the six, meaning it's Kaworu. But I dunno. We'll find out soon, I guess.

When I decrease the size I see a definite five now.



And the reviewer knows as much as we do so we can't say it's anything for sure. 'Cyber' meaning it has the headgear? But it looks like it's in a regular Eva, except those shiny things everywhere.

0:00- Light's come on. Most likely an Eva activating. Of course we might be missing a few shots from the trailer because we don't know how long it was playing when this guy started recording.

0:01-0:03- Note Eva 01's eyes. Most likely this is when the Dummy Plug is activated against Bardiel.

0:04-0:05- Eva Unit 00 jumping. Probably during the Sahaquiel fight.

0:05-0:06- Eva Unit 02. Same deal.

0:07-0:08- Unit 01 blowing out it's AT field against Sahaqueil. All the confirmation I need.

0:08-0:09- Shinji being Shinji. I think based on a later shot in trailer he's talking to Kaji.

0:09-0:10- Misato being Misato

0:10-0:12- Asuka SHIKINAMI is here. Strikes me having her drop in right before Sahaqueil lands could be an awesome intro to her.

0:12-0:14- Rei troubled.

0:14- Gendo and Shinji at grave. It's in film.

0:15- Ritsuko being Ritsuko.

0:15-0:17- Shinji getting up for some reason.

0:18-0:26- Various Anno shots of the environment.

0:26-0:28- Satellite in space. Could cover Anything.

0:28-0:36- More prepping for battle montage. I like the shot of the cars and people walking across the train tracks.

0:36-0:38- Who the hell knows. Looks epic cause that appears to be a destroyed battleship in the corner.

0:38-0:39- It's an Eva. Can't tell which. I feel it's Eva Unit 03 doing it's "I'm coming to kill you!" Jump.

0:39-0:41- Sahaquiel destroying the satellites observing it.

0:41- Had to squint hard but there's Zeurel.

0:42- Splosions.

0:42-0:43- Unit 01 sprinting during the Sahaquiel incident.

0:44- No idea. I think it's Unit 05 doing something.

0:45- More splosions

0:45- I think it's Eva Unit 02 under Sahaquiel. If you look closely it has the small horns.

0:46-0:50- You sunk my battleship. Matsuhiro explosion? And classic Kubrick wall of blood.

0:50-0:52- Shinji lifting his head. Neck pains?

0:52-0:53- The mystery Eva pilot. If it 06 then it's Kaworu and maybe he's seeing an Angel coming to Earth (random fan wanking)

0:53-0:55- Asuka looking forelorn. Looks down at a machine she lights up. Could be a photo of Mom, a cell phone, her freaking blackberry, anything.

0:55-0:57- Gendo and Fuyutsuki being themselves. Cryptic dialogue will abound.

0:57- Kaworu....

0:58- The three stooges. Toji doesn't look all distant. Shinji looks away (in Rei's direction).

0:59- Kaji-kun on roof, seemingly correlates to earlier shot of Shinji on roof (0:08-0:09)

1:00- I love Misato

1:01-1:03- Asuka can't sleep. She's wondering why people calling her Soryu.

1:03-1:06- Rei.

1:06-1:11- Shinji leaving gravesite wondering why is Gendo such a dick.


Interestingly enough I didn't spot many of the shots that were previously released as stills (Maya on floor puking her heart out, Eva Unit 03 untouched, the one that screams Ireul but like I said, who knows how long this trailer was playing before this guy switched on his phone).

After two years of nothing it's nice to finally have some images and hints to play with.

Procrastination completed. Trailer and film looks fun on the bun.
